A new collaboration between Novozymes and BioInnovation Institute (BII) strengthens the bio-industrial ecosystem by supporting the progress and growth of early-stage companies with a focus on ‘planetary health’.
As part of the collaboration, Novozymes will provide advice and mentoring to BII’s portfolio companies and will gain insights into the startup innovation ecosystem. The BII team will operate as a ‘scouting advisor’ to Novozymes and provide greater exposure to Novozymes to their network of investors and other relevant stakeholders.
“As part of our strategy, we have chosen to enhance our scouting capabilities to complement our recognized leadership in innovation with external innovation potential. We are very excited to collaborate with BII, as they have a great track record of supporting early-stage innovation. Our goal is to identify and engage with some of these promising start-ups and technologies and accelerate our ambition of using biotechnology to bring solutions to the most significant sustainability challenges,” says Julie Cordes, who heads Novozymes’ scouting team.
A key industrial player
The collaboration with Novozymes will bring mentoring and knowledge sharing to the early-stage companies incubated in BII’s programs, as they work to launch biotech innovation at a commercial level.
