BII's mission is to address the most urgent health challenges of our time. By supporting cutting-edge research and development, we aim to drive the creation of impactful therapeutic and health tech solutions that improve health outcomes worldwide.
We fund efforts to combat a wide range of health conditions, including cancer, inflammation and immune diseases, and cardiometabolic diseases such as diabetes and heart disease. We also place a strong emphasis on women’s health and gender medicine, tackling the unique health challenges faced by women.
In addition, we are committed to reducing the threat of infectious diseases by advancing vaccines and novel therapies. In the field of neurological diseases, we support research focused on slowing or reversing conditions like Alzheimer's and Parkinson’s, with the goal of improving the lives of those affected.
